Would you like to knit for the East Ottawa Blankets4Canada chapter of the Blankets for Canada Society Inc?
All you have to do is crochet or knit 8" x 8" (20cm x 20cm) squares and/or sew the squares together, 6 squares wide by 8 squares high. The blankets will be distributed FREE to agencies that work with people without shelter in our area.
The individual squares or completed blankets can be dropped off at Wool N' Things and we will arrange for distribution to the proper agencies.
Some knitters have already donated 200 squares. We will need volunteers to help us sew the squares into blankets. If you wish to join us, Wool N' Things will be scheduling one afternoon per month to this task. Please call us at 613-841-8689 or check our web site for the scheduled dates.
Save all your receipts for the yarn you purchase for making these blankets. Twice a year (usually in May and November), you can submit these receipts to the Head office of Blankets4Canada, and if the receipts total $10 or more, a charitable donation receipt will be issued to you for your income tax return
